Burt’s Bees Makeup Line Review
Burt’s Bees launched a makeup line and it is AMAZING! It’s so great that I had to share my full review of it with you beauties.
When I initially heard that Burt’s Bees was launching a makeup line I was very excited. I have been using their lotions and tinted balms forever and they have never failed me. I have truly enjoyed every single product I have ever tried from both their skin and lip care lines. The fact that they use natural ingredients, are available at my local drugstore and are cost effective are all big bonuses for me as well.
Here is low down on the Burt’s Bees line up:
Eyeshadows – 100% natural – My score = 8/10
The eyeshadow trios are beautiful the pigment is surprisingly vivid. They are available in 4 different trio options and range from stunning lilacs to warm smokey browns and oranges. You can use them to create the most dramatic to the most natural of looks using these incredibly formulated shadows. If you are looking to buy some new eyeshadow I recommend picking on of these trio’s up and trying it out. I have a feeling you will be going back for more.
Blush – 100% natural – My score = 10/10
The Burt’s Bees blushes come in 3 different shades and each of them is as pretty as the next.
They apply evenly without looking flaky at all, the pigment is outstanding and they are long wearing (my blush did not budge all day). I think that the blush is my favourite product form this lineup it really is amazing and very comparable to high end blushes that I use.
Foundations– 98.9% natural – My score = 7/10
I like the foundation because it will give you a nice medium coverage and also because it is available in 12 shades. From pale to deep, this lineup has great range that will appeal to a variety of skin tones.
The reason I am giving this product a 7 is because it looked very dry on my already extremely dry skin. I feel that this foundation would be more suited to a person with normal-to-oily skin but unfortunately, it left me looking a bit flaky.
Powder– 100% natural – My score = 8/10
The powders are great and really did the trick when it came to setting my foundation and keeping any shine at bay. The powders are available in 6 different shades and come in the iconic honey comb package with a convenient sponge applicator stored underneath the powder.
Lipsticks– 100% natural – My score = 9/10
If you are looking for an amazing drugstore lipstick then Burt’s Bees has the perfect one for you! I really can’t express how much I love these lipsticks enough. They are beautiful in texture, pigment, variety – there are 18 beautiful colours to choose from and the packaging is appealing.
The only reason I gave them a 9/10 instead of a 10 is because of the wearability. They need to be touched up quite frequently, as the colour fades quickly (when compared to other drugstore lipsticks).

Mascara– 100% natural – My score = 5/10
Sorry guys! If any of you were hoping that I would love this all natural mascara… it’s not happening. I didn’t hate it but it really didn’t give me the results I look for in a mascara. The brush wasn’t great at coating all my lashes, the formula was a bit dry and the mascara was not easy to build. Mascara is a very personal choice though, so give it a try for yourself and let me know what you think.
Brow pencil– 99.9% natural – My score = 6/10
I liked the brow pencils and think they are perfect for someone looking to fill their brows in naturally. It is available in two very universal shades a rich brown and a taupe for fair haired folk. The downside is that these brow pencils are not for someone who likes to draw their brows on dramatically. Another weakness I found was that the product didn’t wear very well and faded throughout the day. But if you are blessed with nice brows and just need a light fill, then this product is a great option for you.
Liners – 99.9% natural – My score = 6/10
On the positive side, I like the colour options of black, gray and brown. I also liked that the texture is nice, creamy and easy to blend. The hitch for these liners was that the pigment is not very vivid. If you are looking to achieve a lot of drama with your liners then this is not the right pencil for you. These pencils are more for those who are looking to create a soft natural day look.
Overall, I really liked the Burt’s Bees line. The one thing that I love most about their products is that most of them are completely natural. Burt’s Bees prides themselves in using bark, blossom, root and stem to enhance a person’s natural beauty. They proudly use ingredients like clary sage, chamomile, aloe, pomegranate, willow bark and beeswax (among others) that will work in harmony with your skin’s chemistry. These products are also said to help regulate your skin’s temperature, moisture and nutrients, which is something I can totally get behind.
I hope you give a couple of these fantastic products a try for yourself and don’t forget to grab some of the Burt’s Bees makeup remover wipes while you’re at it 😉 They are the perfect solution for removing makeup within seconds.
